We’ll work together to create a custom cake that fits your wedding perfectly, so the cakes and prices here are just starting points, not fixed options.

 

  • The diagram below shows the most common tier combinations, with each sponge cake tier being 5 to 6 inches tall as a standard. We can discuss different height and size options to achieve the look you want.

 

  • Flavours, sugar flowers, and more intricate designs may increase the starting price, and I’ll include these details in your personal proposal.

 

  • You can also add extra display tiers if you’d like a bigger cake design without needing more actual cake.

Pricing Notes


Bespoke Pricing for your bespoke cake. The prices shown here are indicative prices based on standard height round sponge cakes coated with a ganache base and iced in sugarpaste. Simple ganache-iced or buttercream-iced cakes are also available.

 

Sizing. I have shown 3 standard sizes of each tiered cake – hence the range of portions and starting prices. How you’d like your cake to look will influence the size and shape, as well as how many portions you’d like the cake to serve. I can advise you when we have our initial chat and we’ll refine the details at our consultation.

 

Guest numbers and portions. I typically recommend catering for around 75-80% of your total guest numbers (day + evening) as not everyone will have cake.

 

Extra Cake. Additional undecorated cutting cakes can be provided if you’d like additional portions. Sometimes couples opt for a smaller decorated cake but need to cater for larger numbers.

 

Delivery and Setup. Your cake is very delicate so I will always deliver and set up your cake for you – this is something you don’t need to worry about! Your proposal will include this. The indicative prices shown here include an allowance for this.

FAQ

Some frequently asked questions and answers

The most common way to serve wedding cakes is as finger portions (1×1 inch slices by approx. 5 to 6 inches tall) in the evening buffet. In this case I suggest catering for 75% to 80% of your total guest numbers for the evening.

Although it’s less common, if you’d like to serve the wedding cake to all your daytime guests as the main dessert at the wedding breakfast, I suggest dessert portions (2 x 1 inch slices by approx. 5 to 6 inches tall) – so you’ll need approximately double the finger portions/twice the cake size quoted for in the portion guide and I can advise you on this.

The prices in the starting price guide include local delivery (15 mile trip from CF41 7HQ) and your quotation will include delivery to your wedding venue.
